LATEST NEWS FROM THE SURVEYING INDUSTRY

The Government have been forced to put back the introduction of HIPs until 1st August 2007.The primary factor within the HIP is the EPC. This document sets out a properties existing and potential energy rating along with the level of emissions, current and potential. The EPC is considered throughout the industry as an important tool in making homes more energy efficient, in turn reducing home owner’s costs in energy bills. The EPC is produced following an Assessment of your home by a Qualified and Accredited Domestic Energy Assessor. Many are now seeing the value of the information produced from an Assessment in reducing fuel bills and the EPC is being identified as a valued asset outside of HIP legislation. The Government are now rolling out Energy Assessments across the state housing stock in a bid to reduce costs from wasted energy resources.
